Peep My Pack

A late-season attempt at the Appalachian Trail means lots more possibility of freezing temps and snow. I’m as fair-weather a hiker as can be, so have managed to avoid spikes, crampons, ice axes, whippets, and all that other heavy & expensive mountaineering-type gear so far. I won’t pick up any on this hike either, unless & until it becomes a necessity. Since I literally decided to do this hike with less than a month to prep and cash up, spending as little as possible remains a priority, especially on gear that I may not even need. The goal is to make it south of the Whites before winter gets real!

Below is my initial gear list – my strategy is to use gear I already have as much as possible, until it completely falls apart, then replace as needed. Some items I already need or know I’ll need, so I’ve made an Amazon wish list here.

I’ll be releasing gear picking, packing, and in-depth review vids and posts periodically – I noticed while researching some of the replacement gear I need that there are hardly any by and for women, as compared to men, which is some BS!

In the meantime, grab yourself a free copy of my 3-season gear spreadsheet! Once you’ve clicked the link, make yourself a copy to keep in your own Drive, or you can also download it in multiple formats.

Happy hiking!!
